Job Title: Executive Supervisor, Regular Full Time Salary Position Date: 12/2008

Reports To: General Supervisor FLSA: Exempt

Job Functions (include but are not limited to):

  • Primary duty is to supervise, instruct and direct on-site employees in all aspects of work.
  • Job assignments include, but are not limited to;
    • Assists in performing heavy manual labor.
    • Quality control to which all equipment and materials are available for successful completion of assigned projects.
    • May be required to competently operate a variety of motorized equipment in support of various maintenance, installation and/or repair of water, storm drainage, sewer, etc.
    • Maintain the efficient and safe operation, care and appearance of all assigned equipment and vehicle.
    • Accurate time keeping, project management including managing subcontractors, deadlines, etc.
    • Required to perform physical activities on any crew within the company involving installation of new and existing utilities, physical labor, assisting others to complete job requirements, may operate a variety of equipment including hand and power tools, may clean and prepare sites, dig trenches, set braces to support the sides of excavations, clean up rubble and debris, and hazardous waste materials, etc.
    • Ensure public and employee safety by adopting and enforcing safe work habits.
    • Arrive at work every day on time as scheduled with positive leadership.
    • Provide input to the General Superintendent on employees for employee evaluations, recommendations, disciplinary action, etc.

Essential Functions of the Job:

  • Job may entail heavy physical labor, which requires strength and agility. Frequently lift and/or move up to 50lbs. Occasional lifting and/or moving more than 100lbs with assistance from one or more co-worker(s) for team lifting.
  • May be required to climb, kneel, crouch, twist, lift, carry, drag, balance, push and/or pull.
  • All projects are outdoors, in all weather and temperature extremes as well as regularly exposed to moving mechanical parts. Occasionally, noise level in the work environment is loud.
  • Safety equipment or PPE, is required to wear at all times such as hard hats, safety vest, safety glasses, steel-toe boots, back support belts and seat belts.
  • Working hours 7:00 am till 5:30 pm Monday thru Friday (subject to change due to project demands, weather, etc.), with a lunch break. Must be willing to work overtime, standby and some weekends.
  • Must have good manual dexterity, hand-eye coordination, and balance.
  • Must be able to read and understand warning signs and labels on a construction site, be able to interpret plans, drawings, written instructions and specifications.
  • Must be capable of working as a member of a team.

Pipe-layer
Job Description: Non-Supervisor, Regular Full Time Hourly Position    Date: 12/2008

Reports To: Executive Supervisor FLSA: Non-Exempt

Job Functions (include but are not limited to):

  • Lay pipe for water, storm drainage, sewer, etc. cover pipes with earth or other materials. 
  • Layout pipe routes, following written instructions or blueprints, and coordinating layouts with supervisors.
  • Align and position pipes to prepare them for welding or sealing.
  • Dig trenches to desired or required depths, by hand or using trenching tools.
  • Perform any combination of grading trenches or culverts, position pipe or sealing joints.
  • Install and use instruments such as lasers, grade rods, and transit levels. 
  • Check slopes for conformance to requirements, using levels or lasers.
  • Install and repair water, storm drainage, and sewer structures and pipe systems.

  • Responsible for regularly and competently operating a dump truck and/or tractor-trailer units in support of various maintenance, installation and/or repair of water, storm drainage, sewer, site work, etc.
  • Must perform proper vehicle operation techniques, pre-trip inspections and preventative maintenance, maintain a clean truck and present a professional appearance as well as maintaining log books. 
  • Must obey FDOT rules and regulations. Ensure loads are evenly balanced and secured.
  • Ability to load/unload equipment/materials and connect/disconnect trailers as necessary.
